Hello, /fit/. I need your help, the yesterday, seemingly randomly my knee started hurting pretty bad, so I just bent it a little and kept walking, I woke up this morning, and when I straightened my knee, I had an excruciating pain. The pain is only present when I straighten it, whether or not there is weight on it. If I straighten it even with no weight I still get a terrible pain, but it's completely fine a little bent, what do I do?

Pain is in my knee, dummy. Right where my knee cap is.
Meniscus, maybe bursa sack, or maybe a ligament got injured. If it hurts bad see a doctor.
Say you partially tore the MCL, which will heal normally with a brace n rest, but if you do nothing and keep going the destability could cause your ACL to tear as well.
Not OP:
Got knee pain, presents itself on the top/front of kneecap or just below.
Think I hurt it when my knees went foward too far on a front squat.
I did a few sessions where ignored it (sorry) but have since decided to play it safe.
Pain occurs at a kneebend like a deep squat, or climbing up stairs.
No pain at all in a few days though still a bit wary and I do 'feel something' every now again - particulalry if I've been sitting. But I literally just did a single leg squat and no pain.
I figured i would take the rest of the week off, deload my squat by 10% and go from there.
Any tips?
Height: 186cm, long limbs
Weight: 80kg
Front squat: 125kg
Thanks!

Take a month off. No squatting at all and minimal lifting that involve bending the knee e.g. bench press. I had a similar issue and took 2 months off now my knee feels much better.
Also look at the source that caused it in the first place. Make sure you're squatting properly. If the pain persists consult a physiologist.

Thanks all.
Re: ACL tear - my symptoms don't feel that extreme. I had mild pain for 2 days I think with movement, a week later it is discomfort at worse. As mentioned I can single leg squat with no pain, and only if I push my knee foward as far as possible do I get a light 'sensation'.
Thanks for all replies and I am keeping an open mind - nothing is ignored.
