I guess it depends on your goals. I lift for aesthetics so I really don't give a damn about the weights I'm lifting, as long as I look good. It's been 5 years and I only hurt myself once while squatting, but it was really minor.

I understand there are some things they can do & re-align, but ruptured disc aren't one of them.

I have friends that swear by chiropractors, they say " I hurt my back and went to the chiropractor and now 3 weeks later it feels fine". That is what happens to me when I pull my back and I don't go to the chiropractor. If it is just a muscle it will feel better in a couple of weeks.

Exactly - if it's a muscle that's pulled you need rest and ice. If it's bony pathology, you need a surgeon. The chiropractor can only hurt you or, best case, do absolutely nothing.
