looks like the kind of damage you'd see from slipping around inside your shoe. like maybe you aren't lacing it up tight enough or it's the wrong size.

You need to wear some socks with grip to prevent slipping, and you need to tie your shoes all the way to the top, no cheating. its one of thr few ways to actually improve your feet in shoes.

I recommend altra shoes
I have extremely tight it bands and calves and experience the same issues. I go to pt twice a week

If you're complaining about the cushioning I think you should revise your thoughts on what a person who's experiencing knee and achilles tendon pain needs. It definitely isn't a minimalist approach and it also isn't cramming your feet into little banana shaped shoes
