Had a powerlifter sign up for the mma gym i go to today. He's 6'1 and 245 lbs he says, pretty lean, probably did a couple cycles on the cheater juice.
I'm 5'9, natty, 175 lbs.
Anyway, his mobility and muscle endurance sucks dick. I beat the fuck out of him, it's sad as fuck.

You should really checkout pratical strength programming to know more. From what I recall from the book there were various strategies to keep milking the novice gains:
* drop the weight of the middle squat, like you mentioned
* two days of rest instead of one AxxBxxA
* have just one PR set per exercise and do lighter weight on the other two

They're both things that happen as a result of being unable to handle the weight properly, so your body uses other muscles that are in a more powerful, although less safe, position. I've noticed at that when I've squat morninged really badly, I'd get knee cave, but when the squat mornings were less severe, knee cave wouldn't happen.
