I recently started running 1.5 mile runs to get my body used to the idea.
I want to run a half marathon this coming May, but that means putting some work in now so I can start seriously training come spring.
I have never run in winter, and being in Manitoba, Canada, I need to prep for -20C temperatures.
Any advice from fellow runners? How do I keep fit and not die in this climate?

Winter running is great.
Running in the cold dramatically increases my range.
Just warm up before you try hitting your stride.

How does one hate their joints so much that they choose to run

a 1/2 marathon is only 13 miles, anon. I did that for my weekly long runs in high school

Hi Chad
get one of those thin bags like you get vegetables
put this down your shorts, between shorts and underwear.
it cuts the breeze from getting at your junk
no frozen nuts at the end of the run
vaseline on your face, thin layer keeps face from actually freezing.
salt sweat makes cool looking crystals on top
no frostbite, and skin doesn't dry out as a bonus

Lol humans are designed to run. Maybe not an Olympic level but mild running is fine. Also you can always get knee replacement
