I do a 3x5 strength routine alongside my sport, the recent high level amounts of running for training my sport has flared up tendonitis in my knee and whilst I resolve this squats simply arent an option as they put too much force on knees
I can deadlift fine however
Is it possible to have a strength routine without squats? where the deadlift is prioritized and something else fills the gap?
Does anyone have experience with a squatless strength routine? Cheersa
just do light deadlifts in place of the squats
>squat
>force on knees
?
Whats your sport? Are you running with proper form? Squatting with proper form?

Just do leg press or box squats or something. Nobody says that you HAVE TO back squat.

Is his supinated arm flexed?

I've dealt with patellar tendonitis before. It's fucking annoying. I just dropped squatting except for one session of lower volume (working to a moderately heavy set of 1-3) paused squat once a week and it healed up okay

Did your pain stay with you days after your leg workout? I think I have what you have but I don't want to stop leg pressing or squatting. What do you advise? Knee wraps? Lower weight?

I mean, it may be his 1rm, but you don't expect that type of bad form when you are that advanced.

It did.
Like I said, I went for lower volume on squat so I was only getting a few reps in a week. I also wore knee sleeves (wraps would also work if you have them), iced it every night and took ibruprofen before gym

slightly poor form is to be expected on max attempts
Lol at the form police. When you start pulling as much as Franco you can judge as much as you want.

I mean, is this completely treatable? I don't want to become a habitual pill popper, either. Will I completely fuck my knees if I just keep up my routine? I foam roll and stretch and ice after each gym session, but the knee soreness is still there. I love squatting too much to stop
