I need to get one of these (turning up in a T shirt and tracksuit bottoms is starting to limit my participation) but I don't know a lot about them.
I'd like to get a fairly inexpensive one (in the UK), any recommendations? Also I'm 6'1" and fairly slim, so what size would I need?
Thanks.

Katana-tier desu, find something a little more practical like boxing and whatever that brutal asian kicking thing is.

Presumably it doesn't matter if you rip your opponent's clothes in a real fight. Gis are meant to withstand being pulled around.
I almost got my shirt torn up the other week, for instance.
Well, thanks a pantload, chet.

BJJ is a sport m8. Yeah you don't want your clothes to get torn up but some things flat out don't work, try doing a collar choke on someone in a tshirt.
Anyway OP you're likely better off asking the people at your school, the instructorswill probably try to sell you one but it may be overpriced. Don't go too cheap if you want it to last
