I've been doing a set of exercises to strengthen my back every morning and core 5 days a week. I work in and office and im in agonising pain so I needed to try something to help with that.

Exercises:
Half crunch × 20
Bridge × 30sec
Side bridge × left and right 30 seconds

I recently started gym again and am currently doing the mark ripstop starting strength program.

Will these exercises screw with my gainzz or should I be fine to continue them?

Some ab work wont make you any gains to begin with

It depends on how severe your back problems are.
I would rather consult it eith specialist instead of asking on mandarin fish exchange market.

Yeah ab work is good as accessory movement after you are done with your lift.

Strong core - safer back

I've had an mri and ct scan. I've also seen a specialist. Was told no contact sport. Nothing about gym. Ive done gym before and muscle memory kicks in so I think I should be fine. Maybe a physician wouldn't hurt though

Stop doing abs. Do your squat, press, and deadlift. Those three will work your mid section as a stabilizer if you use proper form.

If you really must do abs, do them at the end of the workout.

If you must workout daily, walk.
