How long does it take to get better at running? I just ran 3 miles in 30 minutes and I want to bring it down to 6-7 minutes per mile. If I stick at it, could I reach this by summer?

Believe I can be a better runner and I will be?

just keep running
gradually increase distance and as your stamina goes up, you can increase speed too
also set a feasible goal, there's a huge gap between doing 6 minutes per mile vs 7 minutes per mile
when I was in high school I ran XC for a year, I did my first 5k at 24 mins and when I finished the season I was at 18 mins
but that took a lot of work
sorry for blog

>I ran XC for a year
12 months or a season? Cutting 6 minutes off in 3 months gives me hope, doing it in a year seems like a waste of time.

I wonder how many scoops are in that wine...
I'm in a similar position. I've been running a 5K 3x a week after lifting, and a HIIT sort of thing on the off days and I've been making pretty nice newb gains, but it's only been a week and a half and I haven't ran in months.
