I've been going to the gym for three years and I see visible progress in muscle gains. However I still fail to do any "hanging" exercises. I can neither do 1 pull-up nor a front lever. How is this possible? Are there people who are genetically unable to do those things despite being generally strong?

To get better at pullups do fucking pullups. Not that lat pulldown shit, it doesnt engage the core like pullups. Do a fuckton of negatives and youll be able to do one in like a week.

Front lever, just look up a progression on youtube, you cant just magically do it without ever doing it. iirc its tuck lever, one foot extended, full front lever

If you never did a deadlift in your life and attempted to pull 400lbs (even if you could squat 600 or whatever) would you be surprised if you couldn't? If you want to get better at a movement you need to practice it. Calisthenics in particular are all about training.
