Not a meme. Close to bodybuilding but slower progress aesthetically (for some) because you're focusing more on numbers.
Some people's body's respond well to heavy training. If anything, volume is a meme. You're not gonna be jacked and have weak ass lifts.
nit too familiar with the specific principles but it seems like sound training. 5/3/1 would be a good example of it, i think

No it's a competition where lifters do squats, bench and deadlifts.
It's not a type of training although most powerlifters follow similar strength training and diet regiments.
