Confirmed gimmick. Keto is the worst method to lose fat.

>"B-b-but you preserve muscle!"
Wrong. Unsurprisingly, depriving yourself of carbohydrates is a pretty stupid thing to do if you want to preserve muscle. Most of your weight loss is coming from water. Keto is nothing more than a magic trick that comes back to bite you when you stop dieting, the water weight comes back and you still look like a fat fuck.
I'm enjoying eating 180g of carbs a day while losing more fat and preserving more muscle than ketofags
I agree keto is generally a meme. But, none of the groups in the study ate enough protein, or lifted. On 800 calories a day with no enough protein or any resistance training, yeah, you'll lose muscle.
The reason for the difference in the mixed diet and ketogenic diet group is that carbs are protein sparing, meaning carbs prevent muscle loss. Cut out protein AND carbs, and you have issues.
Having a high protein intake and doing resistance training will prevent this kind of muscle loss on a ketogenic diet.
Note that there is no advantage in a diet to being in ketosis. None. Any benefit has to do with lowered carb and more fat/protein. Not actually being into ketosis.
A "ketogenic diet" is just a meams to an end, it is nothing magical. It sucks for some, it's good for others.
Generally the obese and other fatsos do better with lowered carbs (relative to fat/protein, and note that a caloric deficit is still neccesary of course), and more athletic individuals will not only do better with more carbs, but may even require them (being depleted of carbs impairs performance, particularly in activity that involves anaerobic metabolism, which includes lifting and any cardio more intense than I guess brisk walking/jogging).

>Doesn't preserve muscle
Ketosis absolutely IS protein sparing, period.
>Most of the weight loss is coming from water.
Weight loss diets take longer than a week.
Bottom line is the link you posted is not scientific in the least and really proves nothing.
Keto fatty here, lost 22 pounds these past 3 months while putting on muscle mass and improving my lifts.
Explain that atheist.
Another Keto Fatty here. I've lost 25lbs since October 1st. I've gone to the gym for several of months before, but was still fat and decided to keto. Since then, I've made super gains in the last 2 months. Went from repping 135lbs to 180lbs. Chest, Bi's, Quads, Everything is starting to show and look better. I've gotten more energy and PR's the last two months than I did since April.
