So I just googled the nutritional values of a pickle and ate one. It was delicious as fuck and extremely low calorie. Is it really as low calorie as google says it is? Is there any downside to eating these? Can one eat too many pickles? Seems like have a lot of sodium, but does that matter?

A pickle is cucumber, vinegar and salt. The cute has green veggie level calories (almost none), vinegar has the best calorie to flavor ratio of any food ever (no calories, intense taste) and salt is non caloric too.
Is massive salt intake bad? Yes. It's associated with all cause mortality AFTER you control for its effects on many diseases like hypertension. But it's the pickle's only flaw.

If you want to eat a lot of them, consider just buying nice cucumbers and marinating them, sliced, in a bit of salt in the fridge before eating. Very satiating. Less salt, less hypertension.

Keeping homemade pickles (and generally home canned food) can kill you if you fuck up when preparing it though

Vinegar isn't technically "no calories."
Cucumbers, salt, and vinegar don't have a lot of calories to them (as long as you don't get any sweet pickles). Just don't over do it OP.
