Hey /fit/
I was wondering what you guys would think of doing mainly weighted dips, chins, pistol squats and one leg db dl's?
Would this be practically the same as bench squat deads?
Thanks.

No. Weighted dips, chins and pushups are legit ways to train the upper body, but there is no way you can get the same amount of work for your legs and posterior chain without barbell movements. You don't replicate squatting with several hundred pounds on your back by doing some pistol squats and dumbbell deadlifts. Your body just won't get the same stimulus.

I meant weighted pistols just to be clear. Thanks for the reply

ohp, bp, dl, squat are irreplaceable
that being said, do whatever you have to do to get the results you want
why not do them all? the compounds AND the alternatives

I'm just trying out different styles of training desu.
Used to do primarily calisthenics and cardio, made some gains. Then I started going to the gym but I won't be able to go until next year and I don't have enough weight or a good barbell for bb movements at home.
I was thinking weighted calisthenic movements might be my best option atm.

wtf
why not just train the normal way?
all these faggots want to reinvent shit, learn your shit first.

>weighted dips
rip shoulders
>weighted chins
legit
>weighted single-leg squats
rip knees
>weighted single-leg dumbbell deadlifts
too limited by hip abduction strength to give leg or back gains.
