Anyone have experience? I'm "bulking" for 2-3 wks and cutting for 1 wk repeat. I've recently come off a cut so i don't wanna lose the abs. Don't see why it won't work if i'm making consistent strength gains.
Yea man, sounds like a great idea. Personally I have no eveidence to say otherwise, but also no evidence to prove its effective. I'd say go for it though if you want abs all year round

Eat at maintainence. Counting calories is all estimation, it's never exact. Some days you'll be eating above, other days you'll be eating below maintenance depending on variables such has calorie expenditure for that day. Even if your precise as possible in counting calories it's impossible to 100% accurate. Results will be slower but you won't get fat.

I feel like this can lead to spinning my wheels. Any amount of gains you make will come with fat. I think this way will still progress while maintaining leaness?

What I said is no different from what you said. Eating at maintenance = eating slightly above or slightly below depending on the day. So essentially one day you'll be bulking, the next you'll be cutting. Stop counting calories and eat however much you body tells you to eat. There are plenty of people who have gained mass who've done this and their always lean gains.
If you'd rather do a full on mini bulk/cut, go ahead. I see no reason why it wouldn't work as long as you commit to it. Might be hard to consistintently switch back and forth between the two though. Intermediate fasting is also a good way to make lean gains.
