I have no idea, on the second rep my elbow started giving me click like pains, I thought it nothing and continued benching, until it got so bad I had to do the roll of shame even though my muscles were still strong to keep going

after this the pain has reduced but every time I try to add any sort of pressure to my elbow, it gives me the same pain again

Is it the actual elbow or is it one of the tendons connecting to the elbow?

I strained the tricep tendon attaching to the elbow a while ago and I got a slightshot compression cuff which helps me keep doing push movements

Check if you have good benching positon. I used to fuck up my elbow few times when I was newbie - just be sure that your elbows are not too high (I mean, not to near from your head), that your delts are going back, that your chest is going up (I don't know how to tell it other way) and that you retract your back. You can also try wider grip.

And one thing for sure - use some bands for your elbow for some time - you must be sure that elbows is warmed up.

I hope that it gives you some ideas.
