I'm new to lifting, and I didn't see a beginner questions thread in the catalog.
After a workout, I don't feel any pain in my muscles, they just become really weak and I can't use them (e.g. after chest day of 5x5 bench and 3x8s of tricep pushdowns, dumbell flys and facecrushers, I can't even do a pushup without collapsing but I dont feel that good burn of muscle growth I do after cycling)
Am I maybe doing something wrong/going too hard or maybe just too low weight high reps? or is this normal for you guys, thanks

just fucking kill me m8
If your muscles stop being able to do their intended job then one would wonder if that muscle became fatigued from being worked too hard or hard enough.
Or are you waiting for an extremely sharp pain in your muscles to signify quitting time?

it's called DOMS, perfectly normal, it'll decrease in severity as you use the muscle more frequently

It's normal for the first few weeks for your muscles to just stop without much pain.

Pain and soreness aren't necessarily indicative of growth or strength gains. What you feel or don't feel after a work out doesn't matter. What matters is if you're gaining lean mass and getting stronger.

Thanks guys! I think I'll just keep going for a few weeks and see if I make any progress with my lifts and evaluate from there
