For what it's worth, I'm doing the "Texas Method for Powerlifting" program you'll see in the table of contents and having success. That's a three day program though, where you bench and squat on Monday for volume, and squat, bench, and deadlift heavy on Friday, with the intent of keeping you in "meet shape" (read: less likely to be gassed for deadlifts at the end of a meet).

There is a "Split" program similar to what you're talking about, however, where you focus on one lift each day (though I think this wasn't specifically for powerlifting, and thus included more OHP programming than any powerlifter would need)

Good morning, lads. Gonna max my conventional deadlift for the first time in 7 months or so later today. Pretty excited desu.


Does anyone have tips for keeping your butt down while benching without losing a ton of leg drive?

Here's a recent single I hit at 230 and you can see my butt barely comes up.

How do I get back into it? Was planning on doing a little less volume the first week.
Yesterday I benched, was supposed to do 85% 4 x 3, but my lower back started aching after one set - probably because my upper back got stiff from not moving and my arch was thus too lower-back dominant.

Ended up only doing half of the supposed volume.
