It doesn't matter who much I lift or how much protein I eat - when I cut, I always lose a lot of muscle and basically no fat, no matter how hard I try.
What do?
Let me guess OP cuts for a few weeks and loses alot of water and gets smaller. Thinks he has lost all his muscles even before the fat has started to burn.

The fuck? Nice headcanon, bro.
You guessed wrong, btw.
Don't lower your calories dramatically. It's supposed to be a slow but steady progress.Don't go balls to the walls the first week.I get tiny too when I cut and have less definition overall and I can't stand how small my neck, calves and arms get.Muscle fullness usually returns after 1-2 weeks of bulking where you look at your best

Aim to lose about 1% of your bodyweight per week.
Try to cut your calories from carbs. Keep your fat and protein macros high.
Supplement with HMB.
Keep training volume consistent as much as you can but reduce intensity slightly.
Avoid alcohol.

High carb high protein low fat has done me a great service in losing weight AND gaining muscle.
Your body needs to use your excess fat up, so don't give it any. It's simple but niggers complicate it with "hurr durr keto"

Mate, in order to cut into some muscle, you have to have muscle to begin with.
