Pause squats are better for hypertrophy than not paused, prove me wrong.
>more time under tension
>holding bottom position forces more glute and lower back activation, making you extra joocy
>sick pumps
>less weight/no bounce is better for knees and reduces injury risk

>Pausing instead of just going full isometric for fast as fuck strength and hypertrophy gains
OP is repeating a truism. What he calls a "pause squat" is just following through the full ROM.
>>39429627
I mean holding position at the bottom of a squat for a set amount of time, not just moving through the ROM

'Explosive' sets are better for size. http://www.musculardevelopment.com/training/3312-explosive-lifting-for-muscle-hypertrophy-by-robbie-durand.html

But it's not more time under tension if you can do more reps non-paused. For example:
Say I can do 12 reps of 405 squat, but only 8 reps paused, and they both take the same time to complete then it's the same time under tension.

Nah, man, more quad activation mainly.
