No, it's more like a leg press.

You can do way less poundage, but imo hits the quads harder

Tried them at a shitty college gym with no power/squat rack. Hated it, feels really off.

Well I've a homegym. I hit front and back hard, bb hack squats are a very nice accesory

At first they're hard to do and doesn't feel right.

But once you get the technique down they're really nice and works the quads very hard.
