With the /comfy/ season coming up, where I live it gets real fucking cold and quite a bit of snow. Usually when I get to the gym I'm pretty cold when Im starting my workout.

It's fall as fuck where I live right now. Not really cold but it's definitely getting there.

Fall/winter are either extremely comfy or extremely lonely (or a strange, melancholic mix of both) depending on your mood. Maybe next year I'll have a gymbro to cuddle up with when the weather gets /comfy/ again...

I'm a big fan. Burial's Untrue is probably the most classic and my go-to for lonely, atmospheric electronic music. Brian Eno, Stars of the Lid, and Boards of Canada have some great stuff in that style as well.

This time of year though I always get really into Loveless. It's perfectly warm, cozy, hypnotic, sad and happy.

Fuck the snow. Fuck everything about the winter season. The trees and sky look bleak as fuck, there's patches of invisible goddamn ice on the road sometimes, the snow switches from blinding fucking white to depressingly gray slush, it's too cold to comfortably run outside in a tank top and shorts, and the only bird song that I get to listen to on a morning run around this time of year is the incessant squawking of crows. Fuck this shit, i'm going to find housing in a state that stays perpetually green and warm without destroying my funds and hunker down there until I die.

Holy shit, this is so hilariously accurate. I try to like snow since I try to stay positive in life, but really it just sucks most the time, especially if you have the misfortune of having to deal with it, remove it, or commute in it. The worst is when the snow has all melted to bleak gray slush filled with cinders, but all you have is a bike for commuting so even through your water resistant clothing you get soaked and are damp ans cold for your 12 hour day at uni. Then you get to bike through a refrozen landscape when it's dark and cold enough to give you frostbite in minutes.

One thing I do like about snow is going for a quiet lonely hike when it's fresh, cold, completely frozen snow. I'll hike for hours in fresh over knee deep snow and not see anyone the whole time. It's freezing, but the solitude is appealing.

First of all congrats on quitting smoking (for the most part.) I know how hard that can be.
I don't really have any advice for you except that being alone/being with yourself for a while can be valuable even though you might not like it. It's a good opportunity for reflection and evaluation, but having to go through it during the holiday season is definitely tough. Hang in there and keep up with your lifts
