Spent the first year of training thinking I had the hormone profile of a grandmother, but when I increased my sleep and protein intake to where they should be, I actually started making normal progress. Has been great Tbh

You don't >need them for lowbar, but some people do prefer them.

However, if you do front squats or cleans/snatches, the heels are pretty important.

I've found that the heels are pretty useful for benching as well. Even people who squat in flats like to bench in heels, Brett Gibbs as an example.

I'm at month 5 of grad thesis that should have taken 2-3months.

Last like 40 activities in the google drive we work in is by me. When we turned in a preliminary draft 2 months ago the last week I had done 12 pages of well-reffed work and he said he was "working outside google drive so the pages dont move around". When we put together the document he had written barely 2 pages where large parts were block quotes from interviews we've done that we had already quoted in a previous chapter.

And now the last 2 weeks ive been working on a draft that im turning in on tuesday and he has done diddly squat. He keeps saying shit like "yeah ill get on it!" and when I try to get a hold of him he uses the same 3-4 shitty excuses over and over.

From my experience, 30 minutes on each subject every night outside of exam/prep periods was enough to stay at a good grade average (90%+) for high school.

For uni, I'm currently treating it like my job. So spend 8 hours a day on Uni (9-5) and then do whatever else I want for the rest of the day. Seems to be working out pretty well considering I've got HDs in all my subjects except one which I'm failing

He really likes sheiko and may do it again but right now he has an overwork injury in his mid-back that may take another month to recover from.

Right now he can handle things like high rep squats at 210kg or lower. So hes treating this period as a restorative cycle where he does a bit of other stuff than squat/deadlifting. He's also been focusing strongly on his bench and has been programmed and coached by a club friend.

Hes contemplating paying for coaching when hes fit for training again, perhaps TSA/RTS/avi goldberg or a known swedish coach.

Right now hes preparing for bench team nationals december 4th(or something). Hoping for that 200kg.

Honestly I don't think you should do any program on a cut if you're not a novice, in my opinion. Powerlifting programs are designed to get you stronger by hammering you with volume until your muscles grow and your technique improves, something you can't achieve with hampered recovery ability from cutting.
Next time I'll be doing my own thing when I cut which includes reduced volume on the main lifts, but heavy sets frequently heavy, low-medium volume assistance work to maintain muscle mass.
the take away is pretty much reduce volume but keep the weight up when cutting, which I think is in line with what most experienced lifters recommend.
I'm just speaking from experience here.

Well you're not going to lose muscle by doing high volume but you're going to train yourself into the ground. That's what happened to me and that's what probably will happen, in theory, to most people.
Low volume, high intensity is plenty of stimulus your body needs to understand it needs to retain muscle mass. High volume on a cut just becomes unrecoverable, even if the intensity isn't very high. I regressed much more than necessary because I was digging myself deeper and deeper into the fatigue hole by doing sheiko when I was losing weight.
