Hey /fit/
It's saturday night, what a perfect time to discuss alcohol!
What are your alcohol habits? Weekly? Monthly? Less than that?
Everybody is aware that for OPTIMAL muscle growth alcohol should be avoided at all costs, but for us at an amateur level, I feel like you have to live a little bit...
How much does alcohol ACTUALLY hurt you? I've heard stuff like if you binge drink 1 day a week, that alcohol will lower your test production the entire week. But then again, you see collage guys who party 3/4 times a week who are still pretty big, so is it actually as bad as some people say?
Pros of drinking
>Social gains, meet new people, possibly new opportunities
>Chances of getting laid are higher when alcohol is in the picture
>Getting mired by drunk sloots, when they're drunk they actually say what they think
Cons of drinking
>Feel like shit the day after, no workout
>If you're cutting, say goodbye to your macros, 1g alcohol = 7 calories
>Lowered test production for a period after drinking = rip gains
>Expensive (depending on where you live)

I don't drink anymore except for at big parties. I realized I was just doing it to maker boring nights more interesting, and it was a fucking horrible habit. So I'll do it at Halloween or NYE or a birthday or whatever but not during normal time.
Also as a steadfast rule I refuse to drink 24 hours after lifting.

I came to a similar realization myself, I used to be drinking atleast fri/sat every week, some weeks even thurs, but after a while it got boring and now I try to keep it to 2/3 times a month.
Something that I've heard is that if you work out on the day, and binge drink that same night, the next day when your body is hungover it will focus on getting the excess alcohol out of your body instead of building muscle. Is this broscience or actually legit?

I think alcohol doesnt inflict damage to your muscles in a direct way, but alcohol its a bomb of calories, so if you got drunk you got also an high level of calories, this calories if you aren't able to sober up, you got a lot of fat mass, this is my opinion, for my idea
if you are consciousness of other facts or other damages caused from alcohol, explain me this
but a thing is certainly
>alcohol is unhealthy
>alcohol isnt a good thing

I am on a 1500 calorie cut, which is like a 700 deficit.
I have drinks a couple times a month, but it takes so much less now that I'm drinking infrequently to get me lit as fuck that it really isn't that many calories.
I'm drinking way better shit now too, since I can spend the same amount as I used to on like 1/4 the drinks. Fucking Isley Scotches are the best.

How bad does this fuck my gains brehs?
>drink casually (1 pint) a week at most
>get proper pissed shitty hangover 2-3 a month
Is this moderation or too much?
>>39392697
>drinking way better shit now
>Islay Scotch
Wtf were you drinking before? lel
My main issue with alcohol is that I get insanely hungover, if I get really drunk then I know that the next day I won't leave my room.. I know I should be drinking water the day before, but
>me drunk
>lmaooooo who gives a shit about drinking water turnuuuuup
>bulking
>not drinking 5 beers a day for easy calories
I drink more then I should but it has helped me lose weight

I gave up alcohol a year and a half ago.
Nope. Had a serious dwi crash and I'll never drink again. I lost everything that I put faith in, but it pushed me out of my comfortable little box and into a life that I am proud of.

I used to drink and then I started counting calories. I would still want to drink so I would eat almost nothing and drink like 12 beers. Then I realize how pathetic I was being and I pretty much stopped, except for a beer or two on social occasions.

probably makes very little difference desu

I used to be like that too. Like I had a hard time stopping once I started then realize how big of an idiot I was and stopped

Had 5 805s tonight just to jam out with my guitarist. I play drums so I think I'm good, just don't over do it if there's no special occasion. If there is go ham, at least I do. Those are my thoughts on it
