Is it better to do rows with dumbbells or with a barbell?

Yeah that's how I herniated my disc in my lower back

You dont have to do them bent over and can do them while resting a knee and hand on a bench while working each side separately with dumbbells.
Also op dumbbells allow greater range of motion. Thus making them superior.
I prefer dumbbell. I can't seem to get my wrist comfortable in the supinated position.

Yeah I can even workout without it hurting so Idk what to do anymore.

yeah i like that technique with the bench, but takes longer. But it is easier to maintain a good form. maybe that makes it more noob-ish, though? is there a disadvantage to doing this?
and yeah i do agree, dumbbells allow a greater range of motion

I've had much better luck with doing one armed dumbbell rows compared to pendlays. My lats actually started to grow after doing dumbbell rows. Also, pendlays are super uncomfortable and are snap city waiting to happen

No disadvantage at all except you will max out on dumbbell weight around 100 lbs. Unless your gym has the 120's.

word up. ive been struggling with efficiently tracking my progress with the barbell because its so dependant on whether i cant stand in that horrible position, so i think im gonna go full-time on the bench-technique until i hit max.
thanks, /fIt/ !
Tbh I like the bent over rows with the barbell. The reason being is because I like to super set the exercise from over-hand bent over rows to under-hand bent over rows :)
