Alright /fit/ I don't often go on this board, but I come to you in a time of need.

Posting on mobile so bear with me, I've started running 5k four times a day for two weeks now.

My time have been for the past has been

Mon: 31:05
Tue: 30:55
Wed: 26:42
Fri: 27:00

Today: 25:14

Guys, I think I have a problem, I might be an addict. I've been running recently at 11-12km/hr aprox 5min/km.

I have a problem with this, I used to think I couldn't run 5k at al but then I started running and I began to love it. I've been pushing myself and I have been running at 88% of my max heart rate. My problem is though that I always stop at 4k, I used to stop at 2.5k and then later at 3.5k, I've been getting better, but I still stop a bit before I can finish a seamless 5k.

Does /fit/ have any recomondations to help with a seamless 5k.

Max heart rate: 220-18=202
Weight: 200lbs
Height: 6 foot 1 inches

it sounds like youre really heavy, maybe lose some weight, especially if you want to hit longer runs in the future

Im not that heavy for my height, I look like I have a small beer gut but that's about it.

That's also one of the reasons I've picked up running. I want to lose it or at least get to the point where I'm skinny-fat.

Im just looking for some training advice on how to condition myself to run a seamless 5k

The runners are all out running atm. Please give measurement of your biceps (w/o pump) to disprove DYEL status.

Otherwise why don't you do what we do for weights when things get tough and just do negatives and cheats. i.e. go slower at half way point and then for the last third go all out for the goal distance - tap into that pure willpower until you cut that middle cool off period shorter and shorter.

No man I don't lift, but thanks for the advice, so for instance running 4k at half the speed I am right now and then push it up to my top speed for the last 1k?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of endurance running?
