I don't play baseball--just intramural softball--but I started doing landmines a couple of months before the season started and have hit almost exclusively giant ding-dongs to the opposite field. Hit several last year, but this year it's nothing but huge, glorious oppo dongs. Chicks dig the long ball, anon.
Chicks also dig the six-pack, of course, which I had within a month.

The swing starts from the legs, the "load" refers to putting weight back on the pivot leg, then transferring that power through the body.
Everything in baseball comes from the legs.
