Hi, I'm a hockey goalie, but I fractured my foot after a collision with another student in Gym class. (I fractured my 2nd Metatarsal.) Right now, I can't walk, so I'm on crutches. Ergo, I cannot play hockey for 6 to 8 weeks, which means my only options for improvement are to look at tactics on how to be a better goalie and to gain flexibility over that time span.
I assume it's appropriate to ask here, so;
My question for /fit/ is, do you know of any stretching exercises I could do daily/hourly to expand my flexibility on my legs? What do you do to stretch your legs?
I would want to do the splits, as that would be a great plus for a goalie. If your exercise takes longer than 2 months to achieve, post it anyway, because I am looking for options that [professionals?] use.

Browse this youtube channel, there are routines for all levels of hip flexibility from beginner to advanced. Start on something you can handle and work up to the full straddle.

I did hockey in college, and haven't done it in a long time. Now I do judo/bjj and I found this channel and was struck by how these routines would have helped my hockey.
