How safe is it to hang a squat rack from a pull up bar?

Better be a damn sturdy pull up bar.
I would want it rated to at least 450lb
Impossible to answer because we dont know what the pullup bar is rated for or what its attached to.

I'm talking about this.
Pull up bar is mounted in garage on a 2x6 laid across 4 joists

I second this. Everything would have to be rated for at least 1000 pounds (including the load-bearing member in the ceiling it's all attached to), really, to give you enough margin to account for a loaded bar being dropped onto it. If it fell on you, that would be The End for you. You're better off with a rack that sits on the ground.
It's a bit unorthodox but I think it looks pretty cool
I would be way more worried about the rotation that is going to be caused when you go to rewrack the weight. You would need some serious friction to keep those slick metal plates in the same position if the bar is moving quickly

Better question how safe is it to do pull ups and chin ups on a barbell with 45's on each side?
