Hey guys, not really a /fit/ question but for lack of a health board... I was putting minoxidil 5% on my head earlier (yeah yeah hairlet) and accidentally dropped it in the sink under running water. A bit flowed in and now the solution is noticeably watered down when I put it on my head, there's also more in the bottle. I estimate I used about 1/6th of 60ml (180fl oz) and now replaced that with water. Since it's very insoluble in water, I think I might have ruined the lot. Any chemists here that could help me with this? Thanks in advance.

But can you get a new bottle and mixed the diluted one with it? It would make the solution less diluted. Or just ruin another bottle.

Well it's a spray can, not unlike a can of shaving foam, and what comes out is also a foam (gotta shake it first though) so I don't really know how I'd go about that. It's also rather expensive and gets less active with "age" so that's why the 3month supply (1can or 180ml) is the max amount they sell.
The problem is also that the results are noticeable after 3-6 months so I don'teven know if it works for me yet. If I was sure it didn't I'd just throw it out and if I was sure it did I'd cut my losses and buy a new one immediately but as it is I'm kinda torn.

Oh, I thought it was in a plastic type bottle.
Might want to suck it up and get a new can then, that way you'd know for sure if it will work for you.

Will probably do that yeah, maybe just wait if somebody with experience in chemistry happens to notice the thread.
