my mom has PCOS and is technically obese but works out and is strong as fuck, and has a waist and no cankles or fat limbs. She was diagnosed with PCOS after she gained 20 lbs in a month suddenly and went to the doctor to find out what was wrong. Before this she was normal weight, about 130-140, and she is still under 200lbs.

The first thing she tried was diet and exercise, a very detailed plan put together by her endocrinologist. she was on a strict 1200 calorie a day diet of the correct foods and went to the gym 4 or 5 days a week. She just stopped gaining weight and started maintaining. She did this for 15 months and the whole time she was really irritable and stressed out and lost no weight, and often took out her frustrations on me and others around her.
After 10 months with no progress the doctor also started her on medications usually used for diabetics and other medications usually used to treat PCOS. They did not help her lose weight. She eventually stopped the dieting because she realized staying fat and gaining 5-10lbs a year made her happier and a better mother than torturing herself only to maintain weight. My mom still goes to the gym 3 times a week and golfs twice a week (not that it's great exercise but she really enjoys it). because it's PCOS she was told she will lose a lot of weight after menopause.

I want to believe these fatties are just being lazy cunts and I think most of them are, but I literally saw firsthand how my mom did everything correctly and lost no weight at all because of a medical condition.

So what's the truth? Is it possible for someone's metabolism to slow down enough to compensate for reduction in food intake and maintain their weight because of whatever medical conditions a person might have?

I don't even eat chicken or other meat normally - the reason being, at least in this country, good meat is particularly expensive when compared to another source of complete protein. Pig meat is the cheapest while also the worst.
But fish such as sprat is damn cheap, plus it's a rich source of omega-3. Tastes great and is a rich source of complete protons. So, that, milk, cheese and eggs are my sources of animal protein, the rest is oats, lentils, buckwheat, whole wheat, spices, tomatoes, corn, green peas, beans and so on... it's super cheap, lasts for long and there are no problems with perishability.
