I'm currently doing the PPL from the wiki, and on push day there are 6 sets of lat raises which are superset with 3 sets of triceps pushdowns and 3 sets of overhead triceps extensions.
I don't really get the exercise. I mean, if I want to activate my lats I have to kinda pull something down (comparing with lat pulldowns) or myself up. I know from some videos that the "raising" part of the exercise isn't acutally the important one, but the lowering is. But I don't get how I activate my lats, because the weight will just lower itself cuz gravity. I try to slow down the lowering but I still don't feel it in the lats. The exercise always ends up mostly hitting traps..
Any tips how to feel them in the lats?
