I need to cut for swimming, curious about how much muscle I will lose once I'm at low bodyfat and how much my lifts will drop by. Is there a good routine for maintaining strength out there (I'm fairly new although I have been lifting for a several years now)

Yeah, there are different routines for each lift that are great while cutting and trying to maintain strength. From my experience I think the best are:

Squat - Smolov
Bench - Smolov Jr.
Deadlift Mag/Ort

If you combine all 3 and stay at a moderate deficit you should be able to maintain almost all of your strength.

I think I fixed my DL form and started lifting in lmao not heels.

Was able to pull 330 x 7 and it felt relatively easy where as a few weeks ago 305x3 felt like RPE 9.5.

It could also be the fatigue dissapation now that I'm resting from sheiko. This was beltless too, so with a belt I think I can confidently pull 4pl8 next time I try to max out.

Gonna try some sumo in a few days since I'm just trying Gnuckols 2x Beginner DL for a week or two before I hop on C6W. Pretty happy since deadlifts never felt this smooth.

Meet is next saturday, I want 200-205 for squat and 230+ on deathlift, I lift in the afternoon which is pretty comfy so I'll just weigh in whatever I do after a big brekkie.

Only negative thing is my bench being completely ??? atm.

I'm also kind of excited to be done with meet prep so I can work with some good volume, get some more swole going, etc etc.

I still have some time before my meet so Im hoping I can progress a lot more on volume before I start a yolo-i-have-no-idea-what-im-doing taper the week or two befiore.

Im really excited to get my competition "out of the way" so that I can give my spine a break, do some bodybuilding. Dunno if I will lose weight until I graduate uni, but I definitely want to focus less on competition movement and think more about holistic / healthy(healthier) strength, i guess.

CYC has retired because of a knee injury and has dropped 50 kgs in 20 weeks.

He's been rehabbing for one and a half year and can't be fucked to keep trying, as it hasn't improved at all. His knee is destroyed, he'll get surgery, maybe before Christmas. Currently preparing to take the helm of the family company, and hopes to live the rest of his life with a functioning knee. He originally planned to keep competing for a few more years, but alas.

For most of the shit you do in the gym, your body will use ATP, it's not until you're doing stuff for 10+ seconds that you'll start to dip into your glycogen stores. As long as you're getting enough carbs (what glycogen comes from), you'll be fine. Timing food for workouts is pointless because it makes 0 difference assuming you're eating normally anyway

He's not bad at maxing though. Last meet he deadlifted 300kg and I think his max work sets were 280kg for a few doubles. Even if 280 is his 3RM that's roughly 90%, completely normal.

The only reason we memed isley about being horrible at 1RM was his inability to peak properly (whether due to wilks' programming or isley butchering whatever program he was running). But that's mostly over now as long as he drops the equipped meme and just runs sheiko mostly as it is.

One of my university's gyms. They're pretty bad about getting more equipment, they just got bumper plates and a couple new (oly) barbells last year, most of the bars have little to no knurling left. Any links to some diy handles? With regards to logs, they look fun as shit and I love pressing overhead.
