Why is whey so expensive?
processing (lol byproduct)
marketing
"supplement" premium pricing
"muh certification" in an pretty much unregulated market
pic related
It's a niche supplement for specific use.
Also byproduct of cheese. Lots of cheese. Then they have to make it taste edible or tasteless.
That on top of marketing and again it being a supplement. Not a requirement to live, but a product only bought by people who are willing to shill out the extra buck.
nigga do what i do
u know what i do
i buy skimmed milk powder, skimmed so it has 100% protein and no fat
but not for humans, for animal use
and I buy it in bulk, like 1-5kg something like that
basically whey, but for animals
It's really not that expensive compared to meat when you consider grams of protein per dollar.
it's a meme. How many high schoolers were buying all this shit? No one and they still made gains

They're way laxer on the health and safety regulations with animal products, nevermind that animal products have different standards to begin with. You might be giving yourself a slow death by bleach.

I had it in highschool and lifted more than most. What does it mean?
>>39224367
No whey to know.
>>39225404
Noobs gains can happen even on a caloric deficit
And clearly from your knowledge I can say you're a noob
>>39225467
that's what he just said
>>39225394
That still has tons of lactose though. Just buy whey in bulk.

price driven up by fitness fad culture. you used to be able to buy a 5lbs tub of ON for $50 but now it's like 2.5x that. may as well buy fucking meat for that much, which completely defeats the purpose of supplementing.

you can still get 5lbs for $50 on amazon
