>training calves
and you're wondering why your delts are lacking
>>39210917
>former fatty
>jacked calves
literally the only upside of being fat for 15 years of my childhood/adolescence.
Wont I hurt myself if I train them everyday?
>ran track and cross country
>calves are noicest looking part of my lanky body
I don't know you're feels
>>39211240
>ran track and cross country
>have nasty toothpick Kenyan Distance runner calves b/c shit genes
FUK U
>>39210917
I train em 3 times a week, about 5 sets of 25 raises and i've been having good results, which has surprised me
I don't think training them every day will allow good recovery
who /nolegday/ here?
>>39211240
*your you fucking mong
>>39211297
shhh bby me too it's okay
>>39210917
>those shoes
Do you do loaded carries? Farmer Carries, yoke or any sled work? I noticed my calves getting way stronger and bigger doing those.
who here /tankasscalves/?
cyclist here, work your way up to 60-70 miles with 10k ft vertical and you ill have great looking calves... down side is that you ill probably lose a good chunk of your upper body trying to achieve it.
>>39211963
those things must weigh like 20lbs each
>>39210917
you know who should wear this shoes? monkeys
Training calves every work out is a great way to hurt yourself. Just don't be retarded, do seated calf raises, standing calf raises and donkey calf raises. Good weight to achieve a burn and high reps for 3 sets each. U need all 3 movements in your calf routine to hit every part of the muscles. Idiots who only do standing are the ones who have never felt calf DOMS before
>>39211966
i'm just a casual cyclist, and i noticed my calves getting bigger and i do 25-60 mile rides on relatively flat terrains. lots of wind though.
>>39213354
t. calflet
>>39213354
I did 2 sets of unweighted standing calf raises to failure and couldn't walk normally for a week
I do 4x10 calf raises at 405lbs or more on leg day, and my calves are still really average. Saw some massive calves on a guy I was slipstreaming biking the other day, so apparently that helps.
>>39210917
You can get big calves just by running. My legs look disproportionate as shit because my calves are so big from running when I played soccer.
>>39213558
Calves respond better to 15-20 rep range. I've seen as high as 50 reps per set recommended. I'm at 255 for 3x20 and seeing results. Slow results, but results.
>>39211108
This
They shrunk/ cut up a bit when I lost the weight though.
>17.5" reporting in.
Train calves everyday hoping your chicken legs will one day be big but it's never gonna happen. You're just going to get Achilles tendinitis.
>>39213932
Thanks, I'll see if I can keep the same weight but for 15
Grow grow grow
>>39210917
High volume every 2 days, go for 20 reps for 5 sets. Do it for 2 years then complain about small calves.
>>39214115
>do first calf workout
>3x15 JUST ONE EXERCISE
>achilles tendonits for two weeks
I don't understand why my ankles were that weak when I would go play sports and be just fine
>>39211240
Calves are actually not that important to running and calf hypertrophy reduces running economy and makes you slow. Train quads n glutes for speed, calves are worthless.
>tfw job requires me to be on feet and walk around a lot.
Calves before I even started lifting because I was walking miles and miles a day
I hate weight training calves
What else grows them? I heard jump rope and sprinting?
>>39215805
When i first began jumping rope it'd make my calves burn with fire
How much is considered strong for calf raises? Like 200kg or more?
>>39215805
hill sprinting specifically targets them in my experience
DOMS so bad I couldn't walk on aynthing but horizontal ground the first time I did them
>>39215096
All professional waitresses I knew had juicyass calves, not fat cankles but aesthetically sweeping and sporty.
