Why aren't you doing the sumo deadlift? The King of the Lifts?

Because Rippetoe's acolyte told me so: http://startingstrength.com/article/why_almost_nobody_should_pull_sumo
>>39208509
Okay, but do you have a good reason?
>>39208496
Isn't sumo supposed to be done with a narrower grip than that?
I like sumo deadlift but I highly question whether it hits your hammies as hard as conventional. No matter what I do I never feel it. Conventional frequently leaves my hammies sore the next day but sumo never at all.
I pull sumo because I have a spinal deformity that makes me have partially connected lumbar spinal erectors and I have learned that I can't program low bar squats and conventional deadlifts in my routines or I just have unending back pain. I miss regular diddly but high bar squats suck after a surgically repaired ankle. I'm old/senile post

Because I'm not a manlet

So you don't actually have a reason.

conventional is better for grown men (6'+)

manlet detected

It's really not though.
