I only take about 2 - 4 a day. 2 every morning in a shake (with oats) with some kind of breakfast, normally including some fruit, carbs and eggs/cheese etc.. Then 2 after any workout with a bit of dextrose to give some energy.
I try to get the majority of my protein through actual food, but that's not always easy, so whey is a good standby. Do yourself a flavor and get smaller packs in a few flavors you like, it'll be more expensive than one large pack but it keeps it from getting boring to take.

8 scoops is 192g of protein. assuming you drink milk, eat meat, eggs, oats, you probably get 240-270g of protein a day. that's more than you need in a day.
drop your scoops so you're in the 0.8g of protein (including food) per kg of bodyweight (1g per lb).
OP, you need to lift, mate. protein by itself doesn't make you grow muscles.
