Usually I'll sleep on my side, left side to be exact. It has been killing my shoulder though lately. Also a big stomach sleeper, but i sleep with my arms bent to my sides. Would not recommend, I've woken up with my arms numb.

I've been trying to sleep in my back but man is it hard. I swear my mind just buzzes and buzzes until finally i have to give up and go on my side.

It's not. Your neck and back is put under stress from his. Unless you sleep with a pillow under your knees, and neglect having any under your head. Also, you can sleep on your back on the floor, and it will actually be beneficial to your lumbar (as far as I know)

Sleeping on your side, in the fetal position, with your legs bend, is the best sleeping position.

That doesn't mean you'll find it easier to sleep in the fetal position, however
