Good ones sure. For example, if you have say 5 houses that you own each with 3 tenants paying you 300 a week to live there. That's 234k a year in revenue. Of course you'll have expenses that cut into that but you could almost certainly live a comfortable life from that working close to 0 hours a week.

What this means is that instead of buying into one company, you're buying into a tonne so if one fails, you're probably OK. Even if the whole economy slumps like it did in 2008, you're still fine because in the long long run, the economy has ALWAYS gone up.

Tl;dr ETFs are super safe investments that you'd keep for literally decades as a long term thing.

Corn Stover (basically the stalk thats left after harvesting). It's a pretty exciting opportunity. My company is hard in the paint on corn ethanol, and they're easily the leader in tech and innovation in that. Most corn EtOH plants are a wash w/ energy, (EROEI of 1.1 or worse) use tons of water, and don't even manage to use all the starch in the kernal. My company has yields on ethanol and corn oil that can't be touched by the rest of the industry, which is a fairly big deal (not wasting resources).

they're also undertaking the industrial scale cellulosic (they have a 20 million gal / year plant, the one I'll be working at - its currenlty working but not enough up time to make it profitable, which is what I'll be tackling).

They chose corn stover because its material thats predominantly being wasted currently, cheaper than other stalky biomass sources and really plentiful in Iowa. Once they get the process tackled, they're hopeful to move to tapioca plants (srs, huge opportunity for humanity). And most importantly, there will be massive synergy between existing Corn ethanol plants and the stover cellulosic plants, and the combination will be extremely beneficial for humanity's liquid fuels sector. the combination could yeild us as high as 80% reduction in carbon emissions on a volumetric basis to gasoline. More importantly, EtOH has significantly lower energy density than gas, but can actually come out ahead in mileage due to effects specific to Otto cycle heat engines (cars).

Biofuels arne't prevelent yet in the US, but once this cellulosic nut is cracked, it may very well be the beginning of the end for liquid oil extraction in america.

This is the plan. Where I live (Sydney) the real estate market is wew lad, just wew. Since the mining boom died down, it's pretty much the only thing holding our economy up. some people think it's a bubble but unless the government stops letting chinese people get free residency for buying houses, the prices are never gonna drop. Even shitty houses in sydney are worth a lot now and they just keep going up. 50-100% increase in the last 10 years is pretty good imo

I'll say, we do still utilize an anaerobic digestion that makes CO2 + CH4 + H2S, but that stream gets cleaned up to make commercial grade CH4.

we also burn everything that can't be converted in a solid fuel boiler (lignen, partial % of stover bale fines etc) and produce steam used in the process. I have a spreadsheet with the rough methane flows but I don't remember off the top of my head. but that's one of the biggest reasons it's carbon offsetting.

For the most part, most of that methane would be released out of cattle instead. Now we're capturing it.

Hey guys. Im getting into this paleo thing. I like the idea of basically taking out all of the processed crap and added sugars to go almost full caveman mode. I've been lifting for a while now and have almost intermediate strenght. I know that full paleo mode is incompatible with 4 days a week strenght trainning so I wanted to ask when would be the best time to put on the carbs on trainning and off days.
Let's say a day goes like this:
-BF: Bacon and eggs with olive oil and some green tea
-Snack: 1-2 fruits (depends on the season)
-Lunch: White rice? (Pre workout)
-1 hour before workout 1 cup of coffee
-Trainning
-Post workout meal: more white rice + some fruits and fats (almonds, walnuts)?
-Dinner: Some meat, chicken or fish with salad.
-Last meal: almonds or walnuts and fruits.

And on off days cut the rice completely?
