I don't follow generic advice like no contact for a month then talk, etc. I knew I wasn't swooping in and getting her back. Just let her relationship happen. She was in the honeymoon phase with him so they were delusional with love (not bitter happens in the start of every relationship). So best thing I could do was tell her that she should block me on everything and I would talk to her again one day. We both kinda teared up and yeah. One year later after a monthish, we are back together.

But just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will for you. There are some relationships that just don't work out. For us it wasn't compatibility, we never fought. Just be rational and think before you do anything. Girls don't want you to be desperate and beg so cut that shit ASAP. Getting an ex takes time and maybe at that point you won't want her again.

Anyway, we were best friends before dating so we were important in another's lives, so that probably played a factor.
