What muscles should I work to be good at wristlocking my opponents?
>what muscles routine should I do for (insert combat sport move here)
Just go to a martial arts gym and learn there.

The only martial arts place in my town is a shitty karate mcdojo that doesn't do any sort of grappling
>>39144277
Well shit go to another town

Why specifically wristlocks?? Exercise will not help you with them. Learn a real martial art
This is the only instance where I would recommend studying Aikido
They're the masters of wrist locks. The art is basically 99% wrist and arm locks.

master of learning super shitty wristlocks that wont work
>>39144219
Learn real joint attacks. Wristlocks are high risk low reward compared to say an armbar.

even Jigoro Kano praised Aikido
Stop regurgitating shit Tapout wearing fatass UFC fans spew
There are some good techniques in Aikido and it features exactly what OP is looking for

Well you want grip strength to grab your own wrist and prevent his hand from slipping out of your grasp.
1. Single arm deadlift (do this after heavy normal deadlifts)
2.heavy heavy fucking deadlift (good for all around grappling strength, and really good for wrist flexors)
3. Farmer's carry
4. Weighted pull ups or dead hang (pull ups hit wrist extensors, but grip strength is almost entirely associated with wrist flexor strength

I studied aikido in an actual dojo for 3 years
I assure you it is nonsense and the only thing of use i learned is babby's first armlock that exists in virtually every grappling art and is even in kung fu and tae kwon do.
Show me some "effective" aikido
>>39144357
its probably gotten even worse since Kano said whatever he did
also tapout fatasses havent even heard of aikido
Like? OP posted a wristlock from an armbar though. That'd be BJJ
>>39144373
You had a shitty teacher or were a bad student who couldn't properly apply the techniques
BJJ practitioners regularly use Aikido nikyo/kotemawashi.
>>39144373
P.s. The reason other arts have waaay less wrist locks, is because they are super easy to escape 99% of the time
>>39144391
That was a jiu jitsu technique before aikido existed..
The moves invented by whats his face are all bunk, hence nobody using them
why are you guys assuming OP strictly meant wrist locks from standing?
why not from other positions like top mount or arm bar?
throwing a wrist lock into existing submissions when possible can make your grappling a lot more skillful and effective
