Lately I've been blasphemous and have been eating kale instead. It's so good panfried in a bit of olive oil with salt, pepper, and garlic.
>>
I've been using olive oil and seasoning with smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and some garlic powder. How can I make the chicken spicier? It's got good flavor now, but it goes away pretty quick.

Also, any tips on how to season rice + broccoli other than pepper and salt? Maybe some sauce other than soy sauce?
>>

For seasoning rice, put a tomato in your rice cooker

it's popular because it's really cheap food that can be good if you spice and cook it right, what other really cheap foods would you use? I can see potatoes and maybe a different veggie but broccoli is pretty cheap.
>>
>>39138026
Yeah, cost and ease is the reason I go for it. I like to cook nice meals every now and again, but when you're prepping meals, nothing beats just throwing chicken into the oven and rice on the cooker.

I do things like have a 'special' day where I might grill up a steak or two, but its nice just to be able to come home and have food cooked and ready to eat in just 3 minutes in the microwave.

>>
How many calories would you say is in one of those meals? My meal looks like this:

>6oz chicken
>1 cup jasmine rice
>0.5 cup of black beans
>bunch of kale

Ends up only being like 500 calories but it still feels like a lot of food to eat, I mean it fills up an entire plate. I'm always hungry at the end tho. Maybe I just eat slow
>>
>>39137378
I swapped the rice for quinoa. I cook it with chicken broth and it tastes pretty damn good. I initially made the change when I learned about the amount of nutrients in it, plus the fact that rice has pretty much 0. To me it's almost exactly the same, Just seems more like a healthy part of the meal rather than just a filler.

I buy in bulk to save money. More expensive than rice, but I can't think of any foods that are cheaper than rice honestly.

I usually put peanut butter with oats and whole mlik, a little bit of dark honey (its a special kind of honey here, its basically filled with all kinds of good stuff) some greek yohgurt and chocolate banana whey. I wake up to a creamy and delicious chocolate and peanut butter big bowl of oats. 1000 calories with 70+ grams of protein. Talk about a good start of the day.

(and no, i'm not a fat ass, i just enjoy this too much, my maintenance is 2400 and i'm lean bulking to 2600. so this still leaves me 1600 calories to eat, which is plenty to devide along the day. )

ps b4 you get started look at the packages of meat you buy. if they say shit like "plus 17% saline solution" they're already pumped full of water
>>
>>39141140
Not him but both work good in my experience. Even a dry brine of just half an hour prior to cooking will make your chicken breast leagues better
>>
>>39137426
looks tasty AF
would eat/10
>>
>>39141168
And how long do you let it in the brine? Some article say 24 hours, others say not longer than 2 hours

Also should I just throw in mixed herbs in the water?
>>
>>39141070
I bought frozen chicken breast for 3.4 eur/kg last week
>>
>>39141225
Depends on the salinity of the brine recipe. I once left a dry brine overnight because I forgot about it and it was super salty but still edible. If it's a cheap herb like Rosemary or crushed garlic I'll toss it in the brine. The idea is that osmosis will bring the flavor of the herbs in with the salt and replace the water in the chicken. I prefer adding certain herbs after cooking (parsley) but that's just me.

One for each meal, or more than one if you need to have some things separate like a salad. A week of mealprep both lunch and dinner is 7+7 meals meaning at least 14 containers, but most people just do one daily meal in mealprep such as lunch because they have the other meals at home and can cook them there. For snacks and things use ziplock baggies (a protein bar and some nuts to eat between meals).

Okay, how small are you?
>shoo-shoo gains goblin
You're a terrible troll. Lurk moar.
>>
>>39149135
I just use a Quechua brand aluminum bottle

might be lined for all I know but seems like it's nothing but aluminum and the small amount of plastic that makes up the cap

it's lightweight too
>>
>>39149441
lmao I'm the troll ???
for not wanting to put excess estrogen into my body on a fitness board ????

>Where did I say BPA is good?
then what is your argument?? how are you not trolling?

anyway, if you're meal prepping (if you're not why are you in this thread) then you probably eat the majority of your meals out of portable containers. it makes sense that you'd be min-maxing macros shit, so why not reduce the amount of estrogen from BPA as well?
>>
I'm on a major bulk, so getting enough calories is tough. I batch cook three sets of meals at a time, about 4 portions each, that does me roughly a week

This week i've got:
A thai chicken curry, 700ish cals per portion (before rice or crackers)
Lentil curry for lunches, about 250 cals before rice
and right now im eating The Monter: sweet potatoes, chicken, chickpeas and peppers in a coconut curry sauce. 575 cals per portion before rice.

Its curry week, evidently. Last week was italian. Any suggestions for next week?
>>
>>39149697
jambalaya or stew week. any time I've ever bulked, have rice not as a 'side' but literally apart of the main dish always helped.

plus a stew always makes my place smell like heaven and I love it. good ol' crock pot dinners man
>>
>>39149466
SO how do you meal prep?
>>
>>39149754
I buy about 8 pounds of chicken breast, lots of rice, and whatever vegetable I feel like having for the week. I tenderized my chicken, season it, bake it, measure it, and put them in my glass containers along with rice/veggies.

Great idea, thanks bruh

The massive diet has helped so much, in other news. Struggled since I started training to get a single proper pullup.

One week of eating at 3k+ and I've managed it.
>>
>>39149818
yeah everyone always tells everyone about the importance of proper diet and getting more than enough protein but I never believed it until I tried it.
>>
>>39149848
I mean, I believed it, but didn't think it would affect me as much as it did.
>>
>>39137378
>still eating processed meats

I make a 15-bean stew once a week with veggies in it, make some quinoa and lentils. I portion it all out to be 30g protein per container. Then I'll add some peas or broccoli, and I have a tub of leafy greens in my fridge that I randomly snack out of. Slow cookers are the best senpai.
>>
>>39146755
>microwave

Don't ever heat food in microwaves; you lose more than 90% of your nutrients that way.

Never microwave anything you want to receive nutrition from.

Funny.
>>

The longer I train, the more and more I realise it is literally like 90% diet. I'm not even eating to hit specific macros, just eating big
to get big 4 scoops come on
So how the fuck are you reheating the meals after you take them out of the fridge?

If you're re-steaming the broccoli, re-boiling the rice and re-grilling the chicken, you might as well just make a fresh batch.
If you're throwing it all in the oven, you'll ruin it.

Been doing peppers , chicken and rice.

I buy pepers on sale , 1 large red onion.
Slice and dice.

Toss in a baking dish with chipotle and cubed chicken.

Bake at 450 for 25 min.

In a rice maker i cook 1/2 cup of rice.

Divide the result into 3 meals

memes aside, people really are microwaving them aren't they ?
>>
>>39151532

memes aside yeah, you either eat them cold or microwaved. people drastically overblow microwaving plastic like you're going to get gyno and die from one nuked chicken and rice but if you're getting BPA free containters there's nothing to worry about
>>
>>39139523
my man. Back home I did 10-14 meals on sunday (usually one chicken based one beef based)
Now at school I just do 6-7 dinners for that week. makes life so much easier

I keep my cooked chicken in my fridge for about 6-7 days, I suppose. Haven't had any problems and have been meal-prepping for well over half a year.

for the chicken use red chili flakes
for the rice put a little cardamom and a little butter. maybe even curry powder + cloves
for broccoli use roasted garlic and herb seasoning with a very small amount of butter to coat
