Hey guys moderate noob here,
at some point when I first started someone told me that it's bad to work out right after you eat, and I've gotten in the habit of strictly following this to the point where I sometimes skip the workout if I don't have time to do it before a meal and I feel like maybe I'm doing it wrong
so please tell me, when is it not good to work out relative to eating or any other activity and how much time should it be separated by?

You'd usually want to eat right after the gym. It's fine if it's a bit delayed, but don't starve yourself.

So tonight i ate a double quarter pounder from mcds without the bu ofc :^)
Went straight from mcds to the gym and hit the punching bag for half an hour.
Got the feeling to go poo but it wasnt uncontrollable.
This is like an individual basis thing, when i started years ago id have some toast, do heavy squats and vomit and feel fine right after. Nbd bro do what feels right
