so this was a PR Clean of 65kg yesterday, sadly missed the jerk because I was too cowardish to fully commit (my previous PR was only 62 so i was kinda careful, whatever)

anyway, what I wanted to ask is how do I avoid my hands, especially my left hand, as you can see in the webm, shifting to the inside during the clean? i set up with the grip i will need for the jerk, but during the clean the hand somehow shifts to the inside, causing me to having to re-adjust the grip(see in the webm) and losing a lot of strength in the process.

So I can't get a coach until like a year from now but I'd like to start as soon as possible.

I'm actually coming from PL, and have plenty of bumpers etc. I do not have any height room for overhead movements like jerks and pressing but enough for snatch grip overhead stuff and I don't have much forward or back room. Failing a snatch will be a little more risky.

What do I do? Should I try to learn classics still? Are there any movements I can start doing now that will be very beneficial to my technique or strength? Like OHS?

That's the thing, I can do it with just an empty bar fine but when I add weight my form just goes out of the window. I can do like one muscle snatch when I try really hard, but other than that I just can't do it. Grip the bar tightly during the turnover and keep a full grip throughout, if you can't do it work on mobility until you can.

do some drills for your dip and drive in the jerk, you're rushing to split and cutting drive short and send the bar forward as a consequence.

If you can't OH squat with even just the bar there's no way you can snatch.

Work on mobility for the OH squat. Use a broom if the bar is too heavy. Get into the bottom position and sit there. When that gets easy do it with the bar, then add weight...

Set your grip for how you want to clean, not how you want to jerk. Your hands will nearly always move as you transition under the bar anyway.

Adjust your grip for the jerk once you recover the clean. Rack jerk triples are good for finding where your grip naturally wants to sit.

I would argue also that you don't worry about your knees at all, let them do whatever they want, but make sure that you have a very tight back and core and think about dropping your dick between your legs.

tried to get faster under the bar in the snatch, it felt faster and more snappy but watching it later it still seems like i stay upright for a way to long time after the bar hast started traveling from my hips.
i also tried to be faster in the jerk since that is what i think is hindering my c&j progression.
i got confused a bit if the front knee should stay behind the heel or be above it?
it seems i cant reach out my front foot far enough and still stay stable in the split position, the times where i actually put my heel infront of my knee felt very wobely.
also it seems like i get on my toes when jerking, ive read quite a few times that jerks should be driven through the heel, others however say that one should "jump" in the jerk.
help that gets me progress in my lifts, this time especially jerk advice, is appreciated as always.

snatch:
start position is garbage - you shoulders are way behind the bar and continue to be behind through out the pull - this causes the bar path to travel out around your knees (when it should be straight and coming slightly backwards - see gif). Also your shoulder blades seem to be pulled forwards - you need to puff your chest out and flatten your upper back.
you then initiate extention as soon as the bar has passed your knees, need to be patient and wait until bar is in hip pocket. would recommend you experiment with start position (you have long legs maybe try a wider stance) and work on something like snatch deadlift to hip + snatch pull + snatch and really focus on staying over the bar are being patient - dont extend early

clean and jerk:
same issue as snatch in the clean - shoulders way behind the bar = bar loops around knee = bad positions, it's better overall though.
your split position isn't too bad actually, the biggest issue is you shift your weight on to your toes in the dip then drive the bar forward, the cue I use personally is to imagine back is flat aginst a wall and has to stay flat against the wall for the entire jerk.

My experience has been similar. I like the way most Puma gear fits and looks, form- fitting but comfortable with enough room and give to move. Adidas track and soccer bottoms, especially the cheaper models, are usually too tight and inflexible, but their sweats are really nice.

yeah bar will start to accelerate past the knees as the hips start to extend but the 'power position' where triple extension starts is at the hip crease for the snatch, you can see in the vid you posted when the bar is at ilya's hip his shoulders are still over the bar, hips and knees still have lots of flexion, feet still pretty much flat on the floor and its from here that he then extends fully.
the anon seems to be initiating it a bit early though to be fair its exacerbated by him not staying over the bar in the pull and his grip is maybe too narrow, so it might correct itself if he fixes the pull

Guys, I have started training in the weightlifting gym about a month ago. They said I need good deep squat so I'm doing a lot of stretching but I still have pretty big buttwink when I go low.

I've done some research and the buttwink is caused because hamstrings are not long enough. So I should stretch the hamstrings. But I also have anterior pelvic tilt and this is a sign of stretched hamstrings and I should not stretch them but rather strengthen them. So which is it?

Also I just had this revelation now. Is it possible I'm bracing in the wrong way and I don't have strong enough core to keep my pelvis up? I just read that when using belt you brace against the belt so you push your abs out. I however have been bracing by squeezing the abs and pulling them slightly inwards.

yes most people have poor core control, go as low as you can without losing the ab tightness, usually just warming up and thinking about this and slowly going lower as the weight gets heaviers should be enough for most people unless you're very tight
