Optimally you should intake more protein and calories to expect gains from 500mg/wk Test. I've ran 600mg/wk on a recomp at TDEE and gained a bit of muscle and leaned out. My goal was strength gains though and not so much size. If you do gain weight while on a simple cycle, quite a bit will just be fat and water with the latter falling off shortly into PCT. On a 10-15wk cycle of 500mg/wk don't expect to preserve any more than 5-10lbs of lean weight after you are done depending on how advanced you are in training. Guys that claim 25-30lbs are (1) lying, (2) fat, or (3) taking large doses at a beginner and severely risking their health.
