So people here keep shitting on the powerlift 2.0's but are the powerlift 3's any good? Id rather not spend $200 on a pair of fucking shoes if I don't absolutely have to
>>
if youre gonna be squatting 2x/week thats an extra $1 per session to get a pair of adistars or romaloes. just do it faggot
>>
If you're in the states, go to an Adidas CLEARANCE outlet...NOT a regular outlet store but a clerance one.

They are selling the Adipowers for 90$. The black/white and the red/black
>>
>>39125923
Okay, now I guess the question is adistars or romaloeos since they're about the same price
>>39126006
I do but there's not any clearance outlets even remotely nearby that i know of. 616 Michigan btw
>>
>>39125892
Adidas Adistar.
>>
>>39126054
Power Perfect 2 is good enough for most bros
You probably wouldn't notice the difference between them and a high end one

But whatever even pricey ones are relatively cheap if you are not a poorfag
>>
>>39125892
If you aren't oly lifting just get do wins or something cheap, they look stupid but work just as well for squats.
>>
>>39126054
romaloes. 4+ years still going solid and strong
>>
Is it fine to squat in wrestling shoes? They've got ankle support and a flat bottom
>>
>>39127559
Better for deadlifts and oly lifts like cleans, but I don't see why you couldn't squat in them.

whats wrong with powerlifts 2.0? copped for 60€ and they feel nice
dont think ill buy expensier ones unless i get to 4pl8 squat
>>
>>39127665
nothing is wrong with them, there was literally a guy who won a gold medal in weightlifting wearing the powerlifts. dont have the webm saved maybe someone has it.
>>
>>39127665
It's just a meme, people think if they drop a bunch of cash on lifting shoes, their lifts will magically shoot up.
>>
Are the powerlift true to size?
>>
Thoughts on Inov8? Are the 325's any good?
>>
>>39127659
hey buddy

>>39126054
I have the romaloes, fucking nut in my pants everytime i put them on and squat. apparently if you have wider feet nikes fit better
>>
I was thinking about getting some cheap China shoes, but the idea of them breaking while squatting scares the shit out of me. Are there any good brands besides adidas and Nike?
I feel like the adipowers and romaleos are all I ever hear about
>>
I will trade someone my Addipowers for some D-Maks or Otomix.

Serious.
>>
>>39127665
they are fine even at high weight.
Seriously I don't understand people that buy $200 shoes that you use only use for squatting.
If you don't compete and have shit ankle mobility the powerlift are goods
If you don't compete and have good ankle mobility then some $20 chuck or vans are fine
you can get wrestling shoes too

>>39127679
for what it's worth a lot of the girls were wearing the powerlift 2 in the olympics
>>
Are the powerlifts 3's better than the second one? The 3's are $30 more where I live.

Anyone who shits on the powerlifts are retarded
Also you can probably get them dirt cheap now that the 3s are out. And they were 60 bucks if not cheaper now

3s are basically identical for anything that matters

I bet you idiots wear "I hate the gym" t-shirts too. What a waste
>>
>>39125892
dropped $240 AUD on adipowers recently, they are worth it though

squatting feels so much better
>>
I owned 2.0s and they were decent, copped adipowers on blackfriday for $90 on amazon. They're pretty much the same, but everything is just more premium. Squatting 2-3x weekly it was worth it,

Copped a pair of Wei Rui's for my gf when she trained for her usapl meet. Theyre heavy and dorky looking, but overall good and cheap shoes. Shipping was quick aswell.
>>
>>39125892
Wei-Rui Warrior. $70 MSRP. Not pretty, but the heel's solid, and that's what matters
>>
Has anyone tried the Sabo Powerlifts? What's the max weight you squatted in them and do the heels compress?
>>
I just wear chucks.
>>
Are there any shoes you can squat and deadlift in

I wear these inov-8 FastLift™ 370s and they are legit.
>>
>>39133437
My only answer would be chucks, vans, or any flat soled shoe in general, but that's dependent on your ankle mobility.

>>39133453
How is the BOA system, does it work, my only qualm is if it breaks, the shoe is fucked for the most part.
>>
>>39127665
They're absolutely fine, i squat over 4pl8 with no problem.... people are just memeing
>>
>>39131724

>>
>>39133533
>They're absolutely fine, i squat over 4pl8 with no problem.... people are just memeing

Same, I see all these Chinese dudes at my uni gym drop all this cash on Romaloes and knee sleeves to squat 2 plate max and its cringeworthy.
>>
>>39133605
squat shoes and sleeves arent necessarily equipment to make you add poundage to your squats, so judging others by their usage of those things is a moot point
>>
I picked up some powerlift 2s in the electric blue autism colourway before sport chalet closed. They were like $20 because the employee let me use all my $10 coupons I had saved up.
>>
Whats the point of these shoes? I squat in old Vans classics. Flat bottom and super comfy.
>>
All these DYELs the powerlifts are SHIT because their heel height isn't as high as the Adipowers or Romaleos.

FUCKING MISINFORMATION IN THIS THREAD

where from mate, ive seen them at wiggle.com.au for pretty cheap free shipping

whered you buy from ausbro?
>>
>>39135456
This x1000.

The Adidas Powerlifts have a smaller heel height.
Which defeats the purpose of them as lifting shoes, because the raised heel is what increases ankle dorsiflexion, and in turn allows you to get deeper on your squats thus engaging more muscles.

Powerlifts are fucking shit for this, Adipowers and Romaleos remain kings.

I'd also like to mention the people saying that Nike Romaleos are more suited for wider feet, I don't find that to be always true. I have flat wide feet and I wear Adipowers. However, the major difference between the two is that Adipowers are slightly flexible and agile, and the Romaleos are much more solid and tough.

It's really your call. Of course if you aren't squatting a lot or doing the Olympic lifts, a pair of Converse or Vans or any other flat shoe will get the job done right up to 3 plates.

>>39135702
Wow. Sound advice in a /fit/ thread. That's a first.
>>
>>39135702

if 0.5'' is shit and 0.75'' isn't, then surely everyone should go su daijin mode and add extra heel height given that none of us will achieve remotely the level of dorsiflexion a professional athlete would

by the way, Peleshenko lifts in powerlifts. Nobody here's gonna be an olympian so you might as well choose what's comfy and suited to your goals.

Also, powerlift 2.0 and later all have the same heel material as PPII so there's no compression. I believe it's a popular choice for powerlifters who squat with less posterior chain dominance (or people like layne who lift like depth is their greatest enemy)
>>
>>39135702
Thanks for taking the time to articulate a serious reply, people like you are why I keep coming here
>>
>>39135544
why the fuck don't you just go to the store
>>
>>39125892
powerlift2.0s are great.
>>
>>39135944
No worries, mate. It's obviously not that big of a difference as >>39135912 mentioned, it's not like we're all competing in the Olympics, but I have had multiple people including myself notice a tremendous difference for hamstring and calf growth going from Powerlifts to Romaleos/Adipowers. So take what I said and make your own decisions, I just figure if you are gonna splurge and blow a few hundred on a set of weightlifting shoes, why not get ones that maximize the purpose of having them.

A lot of people in this thread seem to be shilling Powerlifts, and I'm guessing that is due to the low price, but if you want weightlifting shoes for Squatting and Olympic lifts, I would definitely recommend spending the extra dollars and getting one of the two I mentioned. Again, just my opinion.

Godspeed, everyone. We're all gonna make it.
>>
>>39136225
I don't do weightlifting, just some PCs every now and then. But I do squat high bar and front. And all my joints are way more flexible than my peers, except my ankles. I keep squatting in some shitty old running shoes and my heels come a bit off the ground. I thing I will try the romaleos or adipowers.
>>
>>39132929
>Walk into the gym with my gym chucks that look pretty much the same as my street shoes

dis
Asked a friend of mine who is a certified PT, super into the "science" of lifting and competing powerlifting and he suggested them.
Also they were the only decently priced ones over here.
They are pretty comfortable and they seem to help my squat

also I read the powerlifts were a bit worse as far as the sole goes
>>
>>39127665
They are fine. Very stable and not too much elevation. Shoes are a very individual choice but one can't argue against the build-quality of the powerlift 2s
>>
>>39134273

this. sleeves, wrist-wraps and shoes are mainly for protective purposes and not to add weight to your total.

If you're getting a cross trainer, I would recommend the New balance minimus, it has the same sole as the vibram toe shoes, minus the amphibian look, so you get good support for running as well, but maximum ground contact for whatever lifts you're doing. Most of Nike's stuff outside of their weightlifting or basketball shoes are overpriced as fuck, and generally not very good.
>>
>>39135988
Based on my searches online, there might not be a single place here (in Finland) where you can walk into a store and buy a pair of weightlifting shoes, too niche of a market, so ordering online is the only option.

I just bought a pair as well. Got them Saturday. Gave up on them Monday. Much harder to balance my center of mass midfoot for snatch and clean. At least I only paid $80. The BOA is great though.
