Funny story; I've only bench pressed once. I can't remember the weight, but it was trivial, because I am a skeleton. Maybe sixty pounds, max. It was on a jury-rigged setup outside my friend's house. The effort made me so dizzy that when I sat up quickly after, I lost my balance, fell forward, and bashed my face into one of the pieces of janky random metal shit he'd used to construct the bench. I bled so much, I had to be hosed off.
And that's how I got my cool eyebrow scar.

At one point I did a 20rep routine for the lols where you start at 50%x20 for a single set then add 5lbs a week on said lift. Eventually I got up to benching 185x20 and squatting 205x20. It helped I guess. I can bench 225 around 12-15 times. Now I'm more focused on strength and just sticking to five or less reps for all sets. Hoping to break 300 bench by christmas.

Grab the bar with close reverse grip and put your feet on the bench and retract your scapula while arching your back and driving your upper back into the bench. Put feet on the ground and hold your breath for the lift, take a breath between reps but stay tight the whole time. Obviously you fix your grip before starting your set, holding the bar like that just makes it easier to set up
