both famalam.

Depends on your routine though.

Back Squats as a main lift, front squats as accessory.
Front Squats better in lower rep ranges (<8) though.

That's like comparing
actually why do I even bother posting anything on this board anymore? Every day the same stuff gets posted and I reply to it every time. Fucking noobs everywhere on this site why should I part my knowledge onto you? Why do I still come here? The chance of discussing anything with a seasoned lifter is pretty small considering everyone apparently has never lifted a barbell in their life. Why else would all the same stupid questions be posted day after day? There's only so much stupid I can handle and I refuse to answer any more questions. The human body hasn't changed in over 200000 years and physics haven't changed either. Why things still are being discussed and disputed to this day perplexes me.

Stop complaining, you love this place and can't live without it.
>>
Front squat+Rdl>>>>>>Back squats
>>
>>39079553

But asking what is superior between front squats and back squats is a stupid question because the premise is flawed. It assumes you can only do one exercises and it assumes everyone's goal is the same. Front squats are more quad dominant because of increased knee flexion and less involvement of the hamstrings. While the hamstrings DO contribute to knee extension as well as hip extension, they're more involved in the latter than the former. But in front squats there's almost no degree of hip extension compared to a back squat so as a result the greatest demand is on the quads to perform knee extension.
>>
>>39079586

So as a result of that front squats are good if you want to build stronger quads compared to glutes and hamstrings. It's also better to build a strong upper back because you need it to maintain the rack position.

As you can see the front squat and back squat accomplish different things and need different strengths in order to be completed properly so comparing exercise A to exercise B is flawed because they accomplish and require different things. Just like comparing doing cardio vs. lifting weights. On first glance they seem the same and you'd need to evaluate what is better if you're stupid, but then you realize that one is inherently different than the other and ind the end accomplish two different things.

if you squat to train hamstrings you are delusional

You wonder why things are being discussed, but you get it wrong yourself.
While the human body and physics haven't changed in the last few thousand years, our understanding of it definitely has.
If that perplexes you, you should refrain from posting on this board at all, because you're not imparting knowledge, but rather misinformation.

You: That's a stupid question because the premise is flawed. It assumes you can only see one color and it assumes everyone's goal is the same.

Front squats. It's much more quad dominant and the upper back does a lot of work supporting the weight

Low bar back squats do a fuckton of posterior chain work, but you're already deadlifting aren't you?
>>
>>39081577

The intention is to even out the reaistance curve cause the top of the squat is easier than driving out of the hole
As the band stretches it increases resistance meaning the top of the drive is harder

Where this young dindu has messed up however is in having terrible posture so what those bands are now going to do is create greater shearing forces on his spine

front squats if you consider yourself a bodybuilder and you want to build mass while minimizing the risk to hurt your lower back.

back squats if you're a fat powerlifter who's goal is to someday squat 300kg .. above parallel and with the worst possible form.

Every day I either include a
- front squat
or a
- back squat, high bar
or a
- deadlift
or a
- bench press
or a
- OHP/shoulder press

and you should too

this morning I did the front squat, targeting resistance
this evening (I've slept a little this afternoon and my scoops are in check) I did both the bench press and the back squat, targeting strength

don't ask what the squat can do for you, ask yourself what you can do for the squat
