how do I obtain the navy seal physique?
>>
damn that guy was juicy

Lift functional. Foundational lifts. Run.

No straight power lifting. I don't know the specifics of their regimens but it's probably got a lot of muscle confusion. 3x10's - 4x12's seem like they would produce the most efficient endurance muscle strength.

That's also the 10x rule - the body is capable of more than 10 times what you think it is.
>their workouts are horribly awful but very good for yo
>>
>>39072500
becoming a navy seal is probably your best bet
>>

Take gear

>>39072654
>Functional

What does that mean?

Does your bicep lifting up a bag of groceries train it more than a dumbbell?

Congrats, this is the most retarded sentence I've ever seen stringed together on this board.

I read an article about a guy who was in an airborne unit and what workouts they did. He and most guys in his unit followed something like this:

Monday-friday morning: unit pt. 1-2 hours of running with calisthenics mixed in. So run a mile, do 100 pushups, run a mile, do 100 situps, run a mile, do 20 pullups, repeat. Or just run a 10k. Or 30 minutes of calisthenics followed by 30 of running, repeat. Different every day.

3x a week in the afternoon: barbell strength training. Bench, squat, deadlift.

Other 3x a week in the afternoon: high intensity conditioning; intervals, hills, etc. 30 minutes, intense.

He said that he did that for 2 years and that he could do 100 pushups and 100 situps in 2 minutes, 25 straight pullups, 200% bodyweight bench press. He could run 1.5 miles in 8:30, 3 miles in 20 minutes, and 6 miles in 40 minutes. He says that was pretty average for the unit he was in.

Confirmed, just do p90x forever.
>>
>>39072940
200% bw bench is not average in sof.
1.5 is considered pretty damn strong by them.
And they barely squat at all.
>>
>>39072500
Join the Navy SEALs
>>
Take up MMA and kickboxing classes along with doing calisthenics and running then you'll get there.
>>
>>39072500
Just stick to your faggot ass bicep workouts.
>>
>>39072940
I highly highly doubt the average person benches 2x bodyweight there.

Two times bodyweight is world-class.

Johnny Candito benches under 2x bw...
>>
>>39072958
Do you have a source? 1.5x bw seems pretty low for guys who have all day to train and recover and are probably using a few "supplements" that aren't too legal.
>>
>>39073054
World class powerlifters bench 2x bw.
There is no reason why endurance athletes would be able to.
Im in the DEP for navy SO, and my mentors are all extremely impressed with my 275 bench at 200 bw, they say im going to be one of the strongest guys in my class.
And they dont squat. They dont like the injury risk, so they completely ban it. When the military is investing millions in your training, they dont want to you snap your shit up.
Most guys leg press, and when ive seen them squatting, theyre lucky to put up 2pl8.
They do a lot of bench and power cleans in the weight room. Calisthenics are still #1 though. They also do a lot of bb work, but thats mainly for aesthetics.
Running and swimming endurance are the primary things they look for in candidate selection.

>>39072940
>>39072958
>>39073054
>>39073099
Ya he definitely meant 100% which is 2xBW. You realize if you weigh 180lbs then you gotta bench 360lbs. Thats pretty fucking great.
>>
>>39073122
That's pretty fucking unattainable is what it is.

Few people bench 2x bodyweight.

Pete Rubish benches like 430lbs at 220+ bw and he's been deadlifting over 800 for years
>>
>>39073150
well im just saying its way more likely than 200% which is 3xBW.
>>
>>39073157
Put down the bong and read that sentence one more time for me buddy.
Anybody else who thinks SOF bros bench over 315, look up buds 234 and check out the physiques
>>
>>39073190
I dont understand what you are implying. Are you saying a 3xBW is more likely than a 2xBW? Cause im saying the latter, its far more likely the bench 2xBW rather than 3xBW.

Also, ive seen those vids many times and the physique while going through vs what you look like after youve been in for a while are 2 totally different things.
>>
>>39073157
200% = 2x bodyweight

Did you drop out of school?
If I said what's half, or 50% of 10kg, you'd say 5kg right?

Then what's two times, or 200% 10kg?
>>
>>39073233
200% is 2x bodyweight
300% is 3x bodyweight
An average sof bench is like 1.25x bodyweight
A good sof bench is 1.5x bodyweight
2x bodyweight is maybe 1-2/100 men.
>>
>>39073247
>>39073252
Ohhh my mis read it, i thought they were saying 100% over body weight as in 2x.
>>
1. take gear
2. repeat 1. until goal is reached

optional:
1. let the state give you free steroid injections by joining the army
>>
>>39073099
Well, I guess what you do for selection is not the same as what you do when you're an actual operator.

That said, what program are you following to get ready for selection? What does your week look like?
>>
>>39073294

>that body
>has to be on gear

Jesus christ. You people are sad and pathetic.

What's going on here? Is it 'That guy weighs more than 120 LBS. I weigh 120LBs and I've been lifting for almost 2 months. I'm not using gear. He's bigger than he, must be gear?'

Smolov jr bench ohp and row 4x per week. 5/3/1 power clean and deadlift twice per week.
300 push ups in as few sets as possible 5 days per week.
100 pull ups in as few sets as possible 5 days per week.
Ab work depending on the day, generally timed planks, flutters, or leg raises 5 days per week.
Swim with HS varsity team 3 days per week. 1.5 hrs swimming, then i break off and do 30 minutes of side stroke and dive drills.
Run 10km 3 days per week.
Every weekend, i like to go for a 5+ hour ruck in the mountains. Generally more leisure than training, but it certainly helps.
275 bench, 205 OHP, 110 push in 2 mins, 105 sit in 2 min, 455 DL, 225 power clean, 4:35 mile, 7:00ish 1.5 mile, 18:20 5k, 40:00 10k, sub 24 50 free, sub 1:10 100 breast, sub 7:30 500 CSS, sub 1:00 100 free
Its a lot of fun desu senpai. My highschool years were a good time.
>>
>>39072500

In that pic, go pick up some bodybuilding magazines from 65-80, follow the memes in them, changing routines monthly until swole.
>>
>>39073417
Damn son. Are you in high school?

I'm a college freshman who's walking onto my football team this December. I'm a complete beginner at working out but I hope lifting as part of football for the next 3 years will get me in pretty good shape. OCS is my goal right now.
>>
>>39073592
HS senior.
I enlisted at 17, but i cant ship till i graduate.
So basically i just train with guys, get lunch and talk with ex SEALs, and read/ play guitar.
Its pretty boring. Counting the days till shit gets real.
>>
>>39073728
Well, good luck. Would you prefer to serve under Hillary or Trump?
>>
>>39073811
Trump obv.
I like a good fight, but its better if you fight for the right reason.
Picking on kids was never fun, but kicking the shit out of some smug bastard that fucked with me was one of life's finer pleasures.
Hillary should be in jail, undoubtedly. Her vagina keeps her afloat.
Meanwhile, trump says a few mean things and people hate him for it.
>>
>>39072689
>it's 3 different sentences

Lift like you would doing what the SF actually do.

Farmer's carry, bench, shrugs, lat pull downs and lat rows, etc.
>>
>>39072950
p90x's ab/core workouts are one of the best I've ever done.
>>
>>39073981
So grip strength and traps?
>>
>>39072654
Please never give advice again until you understand more about physiology.
>>
>>39073860
No one hates him, its just the jew media trying to discredit him
>>
>>39072654
You're a moron.

Also OP, the guy is clearly a bodybuilder as a hobby. The other guys in the back look DYEL as fuck, and generally infantry activities will make you DYEL over time.

People who are big in the military are big because they want to be, not because they have to be

Yeah, a few medium-high rep highbar sets is way more dangerous than max effort leg pressing is. Fuck, so glad I'm out. That said, the crossfitization of the military has at least started pointing people towards barbells as being a useful training tool

Literally just squat, press things away from you, pull from the floor, above you, and horizontally on a regular basis, and stay in shape. Food is your friend because you are likely a skinny twink.
