I was smoking around 4 packs a day before I quit. You can do it!

My dad was an athlete, even went to the 1976 Olympics
He smoked for many years, then quit one day on his birthday when he was like 30.
About 10 years later at some wedding he smoked a cigar, and that was it, he started again.
He tried to quit a few more times but unsuccessfully, until 3-4 years (he's 58 now) he quit again.
He says the craving never goes away and you always want it. That does not get any easier, ever.
But he can do all the sports he loves much more easily now (he has never stopped exercising and doing sports).
how can you smoke more than 10 cigs a day man, fuck that shit
i smoke like 5 a month and feel like its too much

>Anyone here managed to quit?
Yeah.
I was never at 75 cigs a day, but I was at about a pack and a half at my worst.
I bought a nice e-cig and a few different juices to test
>we get it, you vape
>something about fedoras
At first, I couldn't quit smoking even if I was vaping, but I found some flavors I enjoyed and split between the two.
Then I started exclusively vaping during the times I made a habit out of smoking
>drive to work
>on break
>before bed, etc.
And I would smoke when I felt like it otherwise.
Eventually, as I got more and more habituated to using the e-cig, I cut out cigarettes completely. Took me a few tries, but it eventually stuck.
But I just vaped constantly, all the time. Wasn't even really a money saver compared to cigarettes anymore, because I was vaping way more than I smoked, but my lungs felt better. And my tastebuds functioned better after a while.
Eventually, I started buying e-liquid with less and less nicotine. At some point, I was vaping with no nicotine, even though I still did it habitually.
After going a couple of months with no nicotine, I realized that I was doing it out of habit, but was no longer chemically addicted.
I cut down on the amount I vaped, until it was really just before and after work.
I planned on quitting completely, intentionally, but then I dropped my e-cig and broke a piece. I thought about buying a replacement, but never got around to it. Just sort of forgot about it after a while.
Replace the cigs with something else. Having something to suck on rather than cigarettes - e-cig, penis, whatever - will help. One step at a time, bro. You're gonna make it.

Wrong. I smoked for 6 years and just quit one day. No cravings, the smell disgusts me now.
